PlasFuelSys extends the scope of its activities and becomes PlasEnSys, the European Plastic Energy Storage Systems Association
After almost 20 years of presence in the ever-changing environment of the EU-level trade associations within the automotive and transport sector, the members of PlasFuelSys, the European Plastic Fuel Tanks and System Manufacturers Association (sector group of EuPC) decided to extend the scope of their activities and become the association representing the interest of the wider category of the plastic energy storage systems.
More than 95% of fuel tanks produced in Europe are currently made of plastics!
This high penetration rate is explained by the strong benefits brought by plastic solutions in this application.
Plastic fuel tanks and systems are designed to offer environment-friendly; cost-effective; light-weight; and safe solutions to the Automotive Industry
Recyclability has also been extensively demonstrated and HDPE derived from End-of-Life tanks is mostly recycled today in second life applications.
Plastic tank system also serves the dual purpose of decreasing the vehicle’s overall weight, as an average plastic tank weighs one-third less than an average steel tank.
Fuel Systems industry developed innovative SCR system solutions, allowing to store and distribute on-board urea-water solutions, which has been recognized as the best technique to abate engine NOX emissions.
Since entering the market in 1976, Plastic Fuel Systems have continuously increased market share replacing steel due to superior product performances.
ALTERNATIVE POWER TRAINS AND "HYBRIDS"
Plastics fuel tank systems provide innovative solutions to address the fast growing market of hybrid vehicles.
